Overview

 

The Director of Clinical Operations plays a critical leadership role, overseeing daily clinical operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving excellence in healthcare efficiency and value-based care. Reporting to the CEO, this role balances strategic planning with hands-on management to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while optimizing resources and meeting all regulatory and organizational standards.

Responsibilities

Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

 

  • Operations Leadership

    • Direct and coordinate daily operational activities across clinical and administrative teams.
    • Collaborate with leadership on strategic planning, budgeting, and organizational policies.
    • Assist with staffing, recruitment, and retention efforts to maintain a high-performing workforce.
    • Supervise key operational clinical staff based on the needs of the health center
    • Collaborate with CMO to facilitate the integration of all clinical disciplines

    Compliance Oversight

    • Develop, implement, and maintain the Corporate Compliance Program to meet all federal, state, and internal standards.
    • Serves as the Compliance Officer for Advantage Care Health Centers and reports directly to the Board of Directors
    • Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and corrective action plans to ensure regulatory compliance (including HRSA, HIPAA, 340b, FTCA, and PCMH).
    • Serve as a key liaison for audits and regulatory reviews.

    Performance & Quality Management

    • Monitor clinical productivity, financial performance, and operational efficiency through data analysis and reporting.
    • As an EMR Superuser, ensure proper use of EMR systems, including training, security management, and compliance workflows.
    • Work with billing teams to optimize revenue cycle performance and review associated reports regularly.
    • Assist with annual FTCA Application

    Stakeholder Collaboration

    • Represent operations and compliance matters at Board Meetings.
    • Collaborate with clinical leadership, billing agents, insurance partners, and external auditors.
    • Serve as a liaison to external agencies for compliance and quality initiatives, including IPA and PHP programs.

     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, health administration or related field required.
  • Master’s degree in health care or business administration preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years in healthcare operations or compliance leadership, preferably in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or similar setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare compliance, federal/state regulations, and revenue cycle management.
  • Experience with EMR systems, data reporting, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Physical Demands

This role primarily operates in an office environment within a healthcare facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • Occasionally navigate the healthcare facility.
  • Perform light lifting (up to 15 pounds) related to office materials or supplies.
  • This position does not have any heavy physical demands.

This position may occasionally require local travel to attend meetings or site visits.
